RESUME

J.-B. Charlier is a researcher in hydrogeology at BRGM Montpellier. His research work focuses on a better understanding of the functioning of hydrosystems and their responses to climate change and anthropogenic activities. Issues related to aquifer recharge, surface water / groundwater interactions, and water quality are addressed by combining hydrodynamic and hydrogeochemical approaches. For more than 20 years, he has been involved in the development of methodologies and tools specifically dedicated to the study, management and protection of complex aquifers, mainly karstic and volcanic, through numerous research projects in France (notably the Mediterranean and the Jura), in the French overseas territories (Antilles and Reunion) and abroad (India)
